YEREVAN, JULY 30, NOYAN TAPAN. The trial of the court action filed
against the former collaborators of the official newspaper "Iravunk"
("Right") of the "Constitutional Law" Union will start on September
7 at the Court of First Instance of the Kentron and Nork-Marash
communities of Yerevan, with Gayane Karakhanian at the head. This
decision was made in the July 27 sitting of the court sustaining the
petition of the representative of Hrant Khachatrian, the Chairman
of the "Constitutional Law" Union, with regard to giving time for
becoming acquainted with the materials of the case.

According to Hovhannes Galajian, the former editor-in-chief of the
Weekly "Iravunk", and Gegham Grigorian, the former Head of the Weekly,
their dismissal from the occupied positions on February 20, 2007 was
illegal: they have not been given a decision of dismissal by the order
defined by the Labor Code, that is to say, with the bases and date of
the dismissal, even a final calculation has not been made. Therefore,
the plaintiffs claim from the court to force the respondent side to
restore Galajian and Grigorian at their posts, as well as to pay a
compensation sum for a forced state of standing idle for four months.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
