INTERCHURCH MEETING HELD IN ANTILIAS

ANTILIAS, AUGUST 1, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. An interchurch
meeting was convocated in Antilias with Aram I, the Catholicos
of the Great Cilician House, at the head, on July 31, which was
dedicated to the discussion of the issues of the Middle East Council
of Churches. Grges Saleh, the Secretary of the Middle East Council
of Churches, Archbishop George Saliba, the Metropolitan of Lebanon of
the Assyrian Orthodox Church, judge Fauzi Tagher, Dr. Jean Salmanian,
and Dr. Selim Sahiuni took part in the above-mentioned meeting.

According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by Antilias,
issues concerning interchurch life and the activities of the Council
of Churches of the Middle East, as well as administrative, structural,
and economical problems set in front of the commission of interchurch
assistance and service were discussed during the meeting, which lasted
two hours.
