THE REPRESENTATIVE OF PATRIARCH SFEIR
Catholicos Aram I received the representative of Patriarch Sfeir His
Excellency Mgr. Boutros Gemayel, Maronite Archbishop of Cyprus on August 4.
The Primate of the Maronite community in Cyprus, Archbishop Boutros Gemayel,
informed the Pontiff of Patriarch Sfeir’s concerns and viewpoints regarding
the current situation in Lebanon, as well as the position of the Maronite
Church’s Bishops as expressed during a meeting in Diman (summer residence of
Patriarch Sfeir in North Lebanon) a few days ago.
The Catholicos and Archbishop Gemayel also talked about the possibilities of
strengthening cooperation between the Armenian and Maronite communities of
Cyprus.
