Armenia, Alrosa Sign Diamond Polishing Deal

ARMENIA, ALROSA SIGN DIAMOND POLISHING DEAL

Russian diamond producer Alrosa and the government of Armenia signed
today (Monday) a diamond polishing cooperation agreement.

According to a source in Armenia’s Economic Development and Trade
Ministry quoted by Interfax, the agreement also includes cooperation
in the jewelry sector, although no further details on the nature of
this agreement were provided.

The agreement was signed by Alrosa president Sergey Vybornov and
Armenia’s Trade and Economic Development Minister Nerses Yeritsian.

Vybornov is currently in Armenia for the cooperation talks. He is
also scheduled to meet with Armenian President Robert Kocharian and
Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisian to discuss further cooperation.

On Sunday, SakhaNews reported that Vybornov plans to open a
Russian-Armenian company, in collaboration with the Diamond Company
of Armenia (DCA), which belongs to Armenian Parliament deputy Gagik
Abramyan.
