YEREVAN, AUGUST 8, NOYAN TAPAN. A group of over 30 tourists, who have
arrived in Armenia from the territory of Krasnodar of the Russian
Federation, took improvement measures in the neughbourhood of the
St. Gregory the Illuminator church of Yerevan on August 5. As Ruben
Margarian, a member of the above-mentioned group, mentioned in his
conversation with a Noyan Tapan correspondent, after making journeys
in their homeland and seeing the unfavourable situation with regard to
garbage removal, they made up their minds to organize a similar action
within the frameworks of their tourist visit. They ordered yellow
shirts with "Krasnodar-Yerevan" and "I love my Yerevan" inscriptions,
as well as corresponding necessary means for cleaning the territory,
which they presented to passers-by and those, who are engaged in a
small-scale business, after implementing this action.
The choice of the neighbourhood of the church for improvement purposes
is connected with the circumstance that the St. Gregory the Illuminator
church is of great interest for tourists arriving in Yerevan, and
the clearness of the neighbourhood of the church will make it more
attractive for them.
