ARMENIAN ASSEMBLY OF AMERICA CELEBRATES 35TH ANNIVERSARY WITH LAUNCH OF
NEW WEB SITE

Washington, DC – In honor of its 35th year as the leading
Armenian-American advocacy organization in Washington, DC, the Armenian
Assembly of America is pleased to unveil a new, state-of-the-art web
site at

Designed to serve as an important tool for advocacy and research, the
redesigned web site features significant improvements in navigation,
functionality, design and content. Assembly activists can easily find
information on pending legislation and take action on critical issues in
a few easy steps. Drop-down links also allow users to learn more about
such issues as U.S. assistance to Armenia, the Nagorno Karabakh peace
process, and Armenia’s regional and integration agenda, to name a few.
The site also enables guests to subscribe to Assembly publications,
update their membership information, and donate online.

"We are excited to present an innovative, user-friendly web site that
incorporates the latest technology," said Assembly Executive Director
Bryan Ardouny. "We’re confident that visitors will immediately like the
improvements and view the site as an invaluable resource for information
and updates that are pertinent to the Armenian community."

"This new site significantly enhances the Assembly’s presence on the
web," said Armen Kharazian, Assembly Research and Analysis Director and
staff point person on the new site. "It is designed as the Assembly’s
virtual office and allows for the conduct of policy, sharing of
knowledge and documents, and constituent outreach. While its primary
mission is to serve the needs and interests of our community, its value
extends over a larger set of issues and areas. We look forward to
welcoming visitors who take interest in all those subjects."

Enhancements to the Assembly web site include:

* New features – an all-inclusive application process for the summer
internship programs, a national events calendar with secure, online
registration, new tools and resources to take action on important issues
and legislation and an FAQ page.

* New information – the site serves as a unique information resource.
Visitors will find information on all Armenian Genocide legislation
introduced in Congress over the past 25 years and all appropriation
bills for the last 15 years, access to all relevant public laws from
1961 and all U.S.-Armenia treaties and agreements from 1991 to the
present, as well as a chart on all U.S. assistance programs implemented
in Armenia with information on the specific program areas, administering
agencies, geographic areas and more.

* Secure payment processing – users can join, donate and renew their
memberships through a secure server.

* Improved functionality – a search engine for site-wide keyword
searches, quick links to the Assembly’s affiliated organizations
including the Armenian National Institute, the Armenia Tree Project and
ArmeniaNow.

The Assembly plans to continuously improve and upgrade its web site
in-line with user feedback. As the site evolves, the Assembly will
announce changes to the public via a new biweekly e-newsletter.

Established in 1972, the Armenian Assembly of America is the largest
Washington-based nationwide organization promoting public understanding
and awareness of Armenian issues. It is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt
membership organization.
