"ORRAN" ORGANIZES TRADITIONAL CHARITABLE EVENT FOR THIRD TIME

YEREVAN, AUGUST 9, NOYAN TAPAN. The Month of Orran was launched on
August 1 at the Armenia Marriott Hotel on the initiative of Orran
NGO. The spokeswoman for Orran Susanna Manukian told NT correspondent
that the purpose of this event held for the third time is to raise
money for Orran’s beneficiaries. Within the framework of the Month,
the organization’s nurslings will perform Armenian national songs and
dances in the hotel yard on August 11 and 25. Their handmade works,
as well as works of well-known artists will be on display at the
exhibition-sale in the hotel hall. A charitable supper is scheduled
for August 17.
Orran was founded by Raffi and Armine Hovannisian in 2000. Since then,
it has provided humanitarian and philanthropic assistance to more
than 2,000 families and children, taking care of their education,
psychological help, food and clothes. Orran’s programs currently
include 72 children and 50 elderly persons.
