WESTERN PRELACY CHURCHES TO CELEBRATE THE
FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE HOLY MOTHER OF GOD

On Sunday, August 12, the Armenian Church will celebrate the Feast of the
Holy Mother of God with Divine Liturgy and the blessing of grapes. On this
occasion, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will celebrate
Mass, deliver the sermon, and officiate over the blessing of grapes and
madaghorhnek ceremony at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale.

By the ordinance of the Prelate, on this occasion H.E.
Archbishop Gorun Babian, Catholicosal Vicar of Kuwait and the Gulf
Countries, will celebrate Mass and deliver the sermon at Holy Martyrs Church
of Encino.

At St. Gregory Church in San Francisco, Mass will be celebrated
by H.G. Bishop Papken Tcharian, Prelate of the Diocese of Isfahan, who is
currently visiting our Prelacy.

Christian Education Department Co-Director Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian will
celebrate Mass and deliver the sermon at our Las Vegas parish.

Services will also be offered for our faithful in Colorado at
St. Gabriel Episcopal Church by Archpriest Rev. Mesrob Tashjian.

PRAYERS AND BLESSING OF GRAPES

AT GLENDALE ADVENTIST HOSPITAL

According to years long tradition, pastors of St. Mary’s Church of Glendale
conducted special prayer services and the blessing of grapes at the chapel
of Glendale Adventist Hospital.

The service took place on the morning of Wednesday, August 8th, with Very
Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian representing the Prelate. Along with patients,
hospital directors and staff were also in attendance.

Following the service the pastors visited patients to offer
prayers and blessed grapes.

PRELATE OFFERS CONDOLENCES TO PAUL KREKORIAN

Earlier this week State Assembly member Paul Krekorian’s father, Erwin
Robert Krekorian, passed away.

The Prelate sent a letter of condolence on behalf of the Prelacy
councils expressing his sympathies to Paul Krekorian, his mother Joanne and
to his family. In the letter the Prelate also made special mention of Mr.
Krikorian’s service to this country during his time in the United States
Marine Corps.
