A group of 60 Turkish parliamentarians and leaders of several
municipalities, who are visiting Kosova [Kosovo] to mark the 618th
anniversary of the Battle of Kosova [celebrated on 28 June], have
expressed to Prime Minister Agim Ceku official Ankara’s full support
for Kosova’s independence process.

The Turkish representatives declared that cooperation between the two
countries, which have historical ties, as they said, would further
intensify once Kosova becomes a fully independent and sovereign state.

Prime Minister Ceku meanwhile thanked the Turkish diplomacy for the
great support given to Prishtina [Pristina] on its path to Kosova’s
independence. He said that they would always be grateful to Turkey for
this.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
