GERMANY’S NEW AMBASSADOR AND ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER DISCUSS BOOSTING TIES

YEREVAN, AUGUST 13, ARMENPRESS; Germany’s newly appointed ambassador to
Armenia, Ms. Andrea Joanna-Maria Wiktorin handed today the duplicates
of her credentials to foreign minister Vartan Oskanian.
The foreign ministry’s press office said minister Oskanian wished the
new ambassador success in implementing her mission in Armenia. The
ambassador was quoted as saying she would do everything in her power
to help boost bilateral contacts.
The ministry said Oskanian and Ms. Andrea Joanna-Maria Wiktorin
discussed a wide scope of bilateral and regional issues with Oskanian
focusing on Armenia’s drive towards closer ties with European Union
within the frameworks of the latter’s European Neighborhood Program
(ENP).
Oskanian also spoke about the efforts of settling the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict.
Andrea Joanna-Maria Wiktorin was born in 1957. She is a career diplomat
having worked for Germany’s embassies in Latvia, the Netherlands
and Belarus.
