JAPAN RECOGNIZES TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF AZERBAIJAN: DEPUTY MINISTER

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Ramazanova / Japan recognizes the
territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and supports the position of
a peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict, said the Vice Foreign Minister of Japan, Midori Matsushima,
during her official visit to Baku after her meeting with the Foreign
Minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov, on 15 August.

In addition, the Vice Minister refuted information stating that
Japanese firms currently operate in occupied Azerbaijani lands.

In addition, Ms. Matsushima is expected to meet with the Vice Prime
Minister of Azerbaijan, Abid Sharifov, as well as the President of
Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. During the two day visit, Ms. Matsushima will
become familiarized with the realization of the projects implemented
in Azerbaijan through financial support of the Japanese Government.
