ARMENIA, GERMANY HIGHLY APPRECIATE BILATERAL RELATIONS

YEREVAN, August 16. /ARKA/. Newly appointed German Ambassador to
Armenia, Andrea Joana-Maria Wiktorin, handed credentials to President
Kocharyan on Thursday.
Presidential press office says that the ambassador gave a high mark
to Armenian-Georgian relations and pointed out an intensive political
dialogue, frequent mutual visits and quickly developing trade and
economic ties as convincing evidence of that.
Armenian head of state, pointing out systematic nature of bilateral
relations, said that Germany’s promotion programs are feasible,
effective and focused on infrastructural reformation of the most
sustainable areas.
The German ambassador, in her turn, said that Germany is one of
Armenia’s main donor countries in cooperation area.
"The more concrete and practical are programs the more effective is
work", she said.
The president and the ambassador pointed out the necessity of outlining
bilateral cooperation new focuses and stressed the importance of
intergovernmental commission’s activity.
Kocharyan and Wiktorin also discussed Armenia’s integration in
European fold as well as Germany’s part in EU New Neighbourhood
Program.
