Great Armenian Painter Rudolf Khachatrian Has Died

GREAT ARMENIAN PAINTER RUDOLF KHACHATRIAN HAS DIED

YEREVAN, AUGUST 17, NOYAN TAPAN. Famous painter Rudolf Khachatrian
died at the age of 70 during the heart surgery in Germany. He was
born in Yerevan in 1937 and lived in Moscow since 1971. He created
in the spheres of painting and drawing. He has created portraits,
still lives, landscape paintings. He was awarded a bronze medal on the
exhibition of the Youth and Students’ seventh world festival in Vienna
in 1959 and a gold medal at the first Biennale of the Transcaucasian
republics. He had individual exhibitions in Moscow, Saint Petersburg,
Odessa, and Yerevan.

According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by the RA
President’s Press Office, Robert Kocharian, the RA President, sent
a letter of condolence to the Khachatrians on August 17.

The letter of condolence runs as follows:

"I was very much grieved to learn about the death of great painter
Rudolf Khachtrian. His works have enraptured and encouraged Armenian
and foreign art lovers with their originality for tens of years.

I present my condolences to the family of Rudolf Khachatrian, his
relatives, and his art admirers."
