New Ambassador of Korea to Armenia Lee Kyu-hyung (residence in Moscow)
handed in copies of credentials to RA FM Vardan Oskanyan.
As RA FM’s press-service told ArmInfo, during yesterday’s meeting,
V. Oskanyan welcomed the guest and wished him success in his high
mission.
Having condoled upon death of citizens of Korea in Afghanistan, the
minister expressed hope that the rest of the Korean citizens will be
shortly set free. The Armenian Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction
with activation of bilateral Armenian-Korean relations during the last
years in the economic and cultural spheres, in particular. The parties
emphasized importance of forming a legal field. The strive of Armenia
for development of bilateral relations with the leading countries
of the Asian region was marked. The interlocutors also discussed the
prospects of development of bilateral cooperation. The ambassador said
that Korea is interested in greater participation of Armenia in its
programmes on education, experience exchange and development of the
country. The parties also touched upon the forthcoming presidential
election in both countries and the Karabakh conflict settlement
process. RA FM expressed hope that South Korea will further carry
out a balanced policy and confirmed Armenia’s intention to continue
the peaceful negotiations in the format of OSCE Minsk Group without
their transfer to the UN, the adherent of which is Azerbaijan.
