MAINZ, AUGUST 16, NOYAN TAPAN. The traditional chess festival started
in Mainz (Germany). Games of the first round by the Fischer version
took place.

Levon Aronian earned 2.5 out of 3 possible points and is in lead in
the points table. Rustam Kasimjanov (Uzbekistan) and Viswanathan
Anand (India) have 1.5 points each, while Etienne Bacrot (France)
has 0.5 points.
