`Russian Silhouette’ at cultural-business center `Moscow House’

The third selective stage of young designer-stylists’ contest `Russian
Silhouette’ takes place in Yerevan

The third selective stage of the fifth semifinal of the seventh
International young designer-stylists’ contest `Russian Silhouette’
took place at the cultural -business center `Moscow House’ in Yerevan
on Saturday.

According to the Director of ATEX Fashion Center, Karine Dnoyan, 34
young designers participate in the contest. Their collections consist
of 5 women’s and men’s models. The winners will qualify for
representing Armenia in the regional semifinal, which is scheduled for
8 September 2007 in Yerevan. According to her, the designers have the
opportunity to present their works on stage free of charge, because the
organizing committee and the sponsor of the event cover all the
financial costs. For his part, the head of sports and youth department
of Yerevan City Hall, Kamo Movsesyan, emphasized that this contest also
has an informative character, as in Armenia there are a lot of gifted
young people in this field. He added that they are known practically in
all the CIS countries, however, for some reason there are not known in
Armenia yet.

The official partner of the event is the VTB Bank, and the general
information partner is the Public Television of Armenia. The event is
organized by the ATEX Fashion Center CJSC, the representative of the
`Russian Silhouette’ Charity Fund in Armenia, and the `House of Moscow’
in Yerevan. The key goal of the contest is to form culture of dress
design, to unlock the creativity of Armenian stylists and
determine the Armenian professional styling school. To note, the
International contest of young designers was initiated by the `Russian
Silhouette’ Charity Fund in 1999 and it is held in 150 CIS and Baltic
States. Over three thousand designers annually participate in the
fashion shows of the contest.
