ARMENIAN SCIENCE ACTIVITY SHOULD BE COMMERCIALIZED, ARMENIAN TRADE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MINISTER THINKS

In future Armenia should commercialize activity of the science,
Armenian Trade and Economic Development Minister Nerses Yerityan said
at the ceremony of the European astronomers meeting JENAM – 2007.
He also added that there is enough scientific potential for that and
said that the lost contacts with the world scientific centres in the
sphere of astronomy are being again restored. Moreover, today Byurakan
observatory signed several cooperation contracts with Russian, French,
Bulgarian, Italian and German astronomers.
Joint European and National Astronomy Meeting- JENAM 2007- organized
by the European Astronomical Society (EAS) and the Armenian Society
of Astronomers will last in Yerevan till August 25. A total of 300
scientists from 37 countries will attend the meeting. Within the
frames of the meeting held under the slogan ‘Our Non-stable Universe’
8 EAS scientific symposiums and 6 plenary reports, as well as reports
on the achievements of young astronomers are expected. The agenda
comprises such topics as gravitation and high- energy astrophysics,
activity of observatories and new methods of education in the sphere.
