"Let’s be correct and say that the Azerbaijanis are talking about
this. I have serious doubts that the Iranian diplomat made such a
statement, that it is a fact that the Azerbaijanis often give false
statements and information." Thus was revealed by foreign ministry
press secretary Vladimir Karapetyan in a conversation with panorama.am
to the question of how the Armenian foreign ministry reacted to the
recent statement by the Iranian diplomat.

We remind that in recent days the Azerbaijani presses wrote that
the Iranian ambassador in Azerbaijan, Nasim Japin, stated at a press
conference that Iran "respects the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan
and asks for the liberation of the occupied territories."

Karapetyan said the Armenian foreign service is trying to clarify
the Iranian declaration.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
