PORTUGAL RALLIES TO DRAW 1-1 WITH ARMENIA IN EURO 2008 QUALIFYING

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) – Cristiano Ronaldo scored an equalizer late
in the first half Wednesday to give Portugal a 1-1 draw with Armenia
in a European Championship qualifier.
Artavazd Karamyan gave the hosts an early lead with a header in the
10th minute. Ronaldo then dribbled past three defenders to score in
the 30th.
Portugal has 15 points after eight games in Group A, four behind
group leader Poland. The World Cup semifinalists next host Poland on
Sept. 8 before facing Serbia four days later.
