VAHAGN MOVSISIAN APPOINTED RA AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY TO CHINA

YEREVAN, AUGUST 23, NOYAN TAPAN. Vahagn Movsisian has been appointed
Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the People’s Republic of China
(residence Beijing) by the August 23 decree of the RA President. The
brief biography of Vahagn Movsisian is presented below, which was
provided to Noyan Tapan by the Press and Information Department of
the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vahagn Movsisian was born in 1967 in Yerevan. In 1983 he graduated
from the department of mechanization of the Yerevan Agricultural
Institute. He stood for a candidate degree in 1993. He started his
working activity in 1989 in the "Haygasart" industrial union, holding
the office of the head of the agricultural department. Between 1991 to
1992 he was deputy of the chief manager of the "Prometey" exchange,
from 1992 to 1993 head of the Moscow branch of the "Haygasvarelik"
state-owned enterprise, and in 1993-1996 he was President of the
"MVM Invest" CJSC in Moscow. He held the office of the manager of the
branch of Masis of the "Ardshinbank" OJSC for one year, then he was
the deputy of the President and the head of the fund department of
the "Ardshinbank" OJSC from 1997 to 2000. He held the office of the
principal director of the "Armenian Development Agency" CJSC between
2000 to 2007.
