Armenia Office of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Armenia Marriott
Hotel are launching a one month campaign for preservation of Caucasian
leopard (Panthera pardus ciscaucasica). In the course of September,
visitors of Marriott Hotel will have the chance to make donations on
a voluntary basis for each day of stay in the hotel. A box will be
put in the lobby of the hotel where the visitors may make donations.

WWF Armenia Office told Panorama.am that the donations will be used
to purchase equipment, uniforms, cameras, communication means and
fuel for anti-poaching groups.

All these aim to strengthen the fight against poaching and raise the
effectiveness of control of such groups over the life of the leopard.

Caucasian leopard is one of the animals mostly under danger in the
Caucasian ecoregion. According to WWF, five to eight leopards are
left in Armenia.
