BAKU: Some Part Of Weapons And Military Equipment Withdrawn From Rus

SOME PART OF WEAPONS AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT WITHDRAWN FROM RUSSIA’S BASES IN GEORGIA DEPLOYED IN ARMENIA-AZERBAIJAN BORDER AND OCCUPIED TERRITORIES

Some part of weapons and military equipment delivered to Russia’s
102nd base in Gumru, Armenia from the military bases in Georgia are
deployed in Armenia-Azerbaijan state border and occupied territories
of Azerbaijan.

APA reports quoting military sources that these firearms and
military equipment are reported to be deployed in Ijevan, Berd,
Tavush, Vardenis and other regions situation in the border between
Armenian armed forces with Azerbaijan and also in the military units
in Nagorno Karabakh-Khankendi, Asgaran, Agdere regions, Khojali
town and Hadurt settlements. According to the source, some of the
self-propelled artillery equipment delivered to Armenia from the 62nd
base in Akhalkelek has been "donated" to Armenian Army. The equipment
has been deployed in the equipment park in Ijevan region bordering
on Gazakh region of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani Defense Ministry press service chief, Colonel-Lieutenant
Eldar Safarov confirmed the deployment of some part of the equipment
and weapons coming from Georgia on Armenia-Azerbaijan state border
and occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The ministry official told
APA Armenia in defiance with the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces
in Europe (or CFE Treaty) has many times increased its arsenal by
the account of the weapons and equipment withdrawn from Russian base
in Georgia.

"Armenia is causing misbalance of military forces in the region. We
take alternative steps against these steps of Armenia, strengthen
procurement of our armed forces, buy new arms and equipment," the
Ministry official stressed.
