Abuses Again Revealed At Haypost

ABUSES AGAIN REVEALED AT HAYPOST

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. New cases of abuse have been
revealed as a result of checkings held at Haypost by the Dutch manager,
Haypost Trust Management company. The loss incurred by the company as
a result of the abuses amounts to 167m drams (nearly 494 thousand USD).

According to the statement spread by the company, since 2001 Haypost
has hired some lorries to transport postal cargoes. One of cargo
transportation contracts has been signed with the Kochor Telecom LTD,
which in fact belongs to one of the RA government’s high-ranking
officials. The rest of the contracts have been signed with the HSG
Trans and Arax Electronics LTDs.

According to the information of Haypost Trust Management, these
two companies belong to Haypost’s former Director General, who has
signed all contracts made with the three Armenian companies on the
part of Haypost. The report also mentioned that Haypost has incurred
a loss amounting to 167m drams as a result of the deals implemented
by these contracts.

It should be mentioned that Haypost’s former Director is the current
RA Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication, Vruyr Arakelian.

It is noteworthy that as a result of internal studies, lately it has
been also found out that Haypost has incurred a loss of 2bn drams due
to systematic violations of motor transport operation and management
in the past years.
