ANOTHER YEREVAN DISTRICT CONNECTED TO NATURAL GAS NETWORK

YEREVAN, AUGUST 6, ARMENPRESS: On September 5 another district of
Yerevan-Avan- was connected entirely to the natural gas network. Vartan
Harutunian, head of the Armenian-Russian ARG natural gas operator’s
Yerevan office, said ARG has spent 380 million Drams to build a 42
km-long natural gas network in the district. Now 231 high-rise blocks
of apartments and 1041 mansions can get connected to the network.
According to district prefect Taron Margarian, the district had only
3,765 households connected to the network under the Soviets, now some
8000 households are already using gas.
ARG is said to have now 481,000 individual and corporate gas users
across the country. Some 170,000 families have also the opportunity
to get connected to the network.
