INTERNATIONAL WRESTLING FEDERATION APPROVES ARMENIAN TEAM’S PARTICIPATION IN CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HELD IN BAKU

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, NOYAN TAPAN. According to reports published in
the Armenian mass media on September 7, the organizing committee of
the world championships on Greco-Roman and free-style wrestling to
be held in Baku on September 17-23 has announced that Armenia has not
submitted a bid for participation in these competitions. However, the
chairman of the International Wrestling Federation Rafael Martineti
noted in the letter to the Wrestling Federation of Armenia on the
same day that the Armenian federation’s bid for participation in the
Baku championships has been registered and approved.
The Armenian national teams of Greco-Roman and free-style wrestling
(coaches Levon Julfakian and Hrant Yenokian) are preparing for the
world championship.
