PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE OF ALEXANDRE ARZUMANIAN, FORMER MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, HAS BEEN CHANGED WITH A SIGNATURE NOT TO LEAVE

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, NOYAN TAPAN. The detention of Alexandre
Arzumanian, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, as a precautionary
measure was changed late on the evening of September 6, with a
signature not to leave, and he was set free. According to the
information provided to a Noyan Tapan correspondent by Hovik
Arsenian, the defender of Alexandre Arzumanian, the body conducting
the preliminary investigation has decided that there is no necessity
to keep Alexandre Arzumanian under arrest any longer and passed a
resolution on changing the precautionary measure.
It should be mentioned that Alexandre Arzumanian, who was accused
of money laundering, was put under arrest since May 10. The term of
his detention as a precautenary measure was once again prolonged for
another two months by the decision of the Court of First Instance of
the Kentron and Nork-Marash communities of Yerevan on August 31.
