The British Council is celebrating the 5th anniversary of its operation
in Armenia and on this occasion a number of events will be organized
in September. One of the most important events is the Education Fair
to be held on 12 September, 2007 in Ani Plaza Hotel.

For five consecutive years the British Council has been trusted to
administer high-profile UK scholarship and fellowship schemes such as
the Chevening Scholarship programme funded by the Foreign Commonwealth
Office and the John Smith Fellowship Scheme funded by the John Smith
Memorial Trust.

An education fair will be organized to present the outlines of the
programmes, their requirements and selection procedures. The speeches
will be delivered by His Excellency the Ambassador of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Armenia and by an
honored guest Lord McCluskey from the John Smith Memorial Trust.

During the event an award ceremony will be held to officially announce
the 2007-08 Chevening Scholars from Armenia.

From: Emil Lazarian | Ararat NewsPress

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
