NKR NEWLY ELECTED PRESIDENT BEGINS CARRYING OUT HIS DUTIES

According to 67th article of NKR Constitution, in the course of the
session at the Parliament of NKR, the ceremony of inauguration of Bako
Sahakian, newly elected President of NKR, took place on September 7.

Ashot Ghulian, Speaker of NKR Parliament, was in the chair of the
session. RA President Robert Kocharian was also participating in the
ceremony of inauguration. Over 100 guests from all over the world
were present at the ceremony, as well, including the observers of
the recent presidential elections in NKR.

Bako Sahakian took a presidential oath on a XVII century Bible and
the Constitution of NKR. Afterwards, he swore that he would spare
no efforts to serve the people of NKR. He expressed gratitude to all
electors notwithstanding which political party they supported.

He also expressed special thanks to RA President Robert Kocharian
and Arkady Ghukasian, Former President of NKR, for their undeniable
contribution to the establishment of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh.

Touching upon the prospects of Nagorno Karabakh issue settlement, Bako
Sahakian stated that there could be no alternative to negotiations.

Pargev Archbishop Martirosian, leader of the Artsakh Diocese of the
Armenian Apostolic Church, blessed the newly elected president of
the republic.

The official ceremony of the president’s inauguration was broadcasted
over the Public TV of Artsakh.

A festive concert took place at the central square of Stepanakert in
the evening on the same day.
