Karabakh Issue
On a press conference at the House of the Armenian National Assembly
Speaker Tigran Torosian, replying to the reporters’ question about
"Dashnaktsutiun" party’s proposal to unite Karabakh and Armenia, said,
"Respecting the position of each political power in our country, I
must say that the independence of NKR is grounded by all the juristic,
political and historical circumstances; we are one nation, we have
one homeland and one purpose, but we have to realize that we must
have two different independent states to reach our goals. Otherwise,
the consequences may be tough. It already has been stated in the
PACE Resolution 1416. The uniting of the republics of Armenia and
Nagorno-Karabakh shall be considered as aggression against Council
of Europe member-state".
