The court case of the leaders of Royal Armenia continued today. The
court heard arguments by the defense, concerning the complaint filed
against Vache Petrosyan. Ashot Sargsyan, representing the Royal
Armenia leaders, basically said the protest should be turned down in
its entirety, since "what is said in the complaint doesn’t correspond
to criminal activity, as is the case with other evidence presented."

After listening to the details presented by the attorney, the court
decided to hear testimony from Royal Armenia’s vice-president, Aram
Ghazaryan. This is even though the latter requested more time to
prepare his testimony, due to health reasons. The court decided to
postpone the hearing until September 19 at 3 PM.

We remind that at the last court session, Judge Surik Ghazaryan decided
that Royal Armenia president Gagik Hakopyan was guilty of deception,
but the defendant happened to be in Spain recovering from surgery. Even
though Hakopyan had told the court the address and telephone number at
which he could be found, and had presented documents from his doctor,
the court demanded he return and take part in court proceedings,
and accused him of deception. Assistant director Aram Ghazaryan’s
case was separated and a judgment rendered.

We remind at the Nork-Marash first instance court found the defendants
not guilty on July 16 of this year and set them free.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
