EVENT HELD ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF LIBERATION OF AZERBAIJANI CAPITAL

Event was held on the 89th anniversary of liberation of Baku by
Caucasian Islamic Army from Russia-Armenian invaders on September 15,
1918 in Martyrs’ Avenue, APA reports.
Some socio-political organizations of Azerbaijan also attended the
event organized by the Turkish embassy in Azerbaijan. Wreath was
put on the monument, Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Huseyn Avni
Garslioglu wrote down his heartfelt words.
Garabag Liberation Organization, Azerbaijan Popular Front Party,
Public Union of enlightenment of demobilized militants, children
of those died in 1918 participated in the event. Ambassador Huseyn
Avni Garsioglu briefed journalists that Azerbaijan and Turkey became
closer on September 15, 1918: "Anatolian Turks’ help to Azeri Turks
is a very significant step.
Azerbaijanis also took part in Chanaggala battle.
Solemn remark of September 15 in Azerbaijan is because of the term
one nation with two states".
The ambassador voiced the importance of extension of Gars railway
to Nakhchivan and laying it to Baku after the liberation of
Armenian-occupied territories.
