"The independence of Nagorno Karabakh has no alternative", announced
the Spokesman of RA President Victor Soghomonian at a press conference
on September 14.

"Armenia has recognized the independence of the Republic of Nagorno
Karabakh long ago. RA President Robert Kocharian’s presence at the
oath of office of NKR President Bako Sahakian is a good example of it.

What about de jure recognition of NKR, the Armenian side will discuss
it, if the negotiation process fails", mentioned Armenian President’s
Spokesman.

‘There is no other political figure in Armenia as skilled as
Serge Sarkisian and with a capacity to carry out the duties of
president. This is the viewpoint of the President of Armenia",
announced the President’s Spokesman Victor Soghomonian connected with
the candidate of the coming presidential elections in Armenia. He
also mentioned that Robert Kocharian didn’t decide yet what to do
after the departure from power.

The Spokesman informed that on September 15 RA President Robert
Kocharian would pay a one-day unofficial, friendly visit to Georgian
President Mikhail Sahakashvili. In the series of issues the presidents
would discuss also the issues of Gavakhk.

In the first decade of October RA President will participate in the
summit of heads of CIS countries and at the meeting of heads of states
of CIS and Eurasian Economic Cooperation in Dushambe.

On October 10-13, the Armenian President will visit Brussels
for a series of meetings with top officials from several European
organizations. And in the first decade of November President Kocharian
will pay an official visit to Finland at the invitation of the
president of Finland Tarja Halonen

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is expected to make an official
visit to Armenia later this year. The date and details of the visit
are not specified yet.
