Former reality show contestants to speak
After competing on the fifth season of CBS’s "The Amazing Race"
and its spin-off "The Amazing Race: All Stars," Towson alumni Mirna
Hindoyan Buchinski ’97 and Charla Faddoul ’99 will talk about their
experiences on the show. The event will take place Thursday at 6
p.m. in the University Union Chesapeake Room.
Buchinski and Faddoul are first cousins who were born in Armenia and
now live in the Towson area.
Thirty-year-old Faddoul is currently a real estate investor, and
Buchinski, also 30, is a lawyer.
Together they’ve traveled everywhere from Chile to Poland to
Egypt. During their presentation they will share stories and photos
from their time on "The Amazing Race" and their personal travels.
"It’ll really be something to hear about," Jennifer Pawlo-Johnstone,
director of alumni services, said. On the show, Faddoul and Buchinski
exhibited "real leadership skills, and they really knew how to use
critical thinking skills, which we’d like to think they gained from
[their time at] Towson as well as their other worldly experiences,"
Pawlo-Johnstone said.
After their presentation, Buchinski and Faddoul will stay for a
question and answer session. "They’re nice resources to have right
here. They’re definitely supportive of Towson, which is nice,"
Pawlo-Johnstone said.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information,
contact the office of alumni relations at 410-704-2234.
