‘I have always said and reiterate once again – we want peace on all
our borders’, – Defence Minister Mikael Harutyunyan told journalists
today when replying to the question about the information of the
Azerbaijani party on cease-fire regime breaking.

‘We want the cease-fire regime not to be broken, people not to die
either from our or from Azerbaijani party. But when they fire towards
our positions and roads they get and will get an adequate respond’,
– the minister emphasized. At the same time he said that at present
the situation is calm on the border: ‘It would be wrong to say that
the situation is bad’. The minister said that despite statements by
the Azerbaijani party actually cases of cease-fire regime breaking
decreased about 40%. ‘Probably these statements are made for home
consumption. They will not say they themselves start first, will
they?’, – Harutyunyan asked.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
