Some 3,200 foreigners visit Nagorno Karabakh this year

SOME 3,200 FOREIGNERS VISIT NAGORNO-KARABAKH THIS YEAR

STEPANAKERT, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS: Some 3,200
foreigners visited Nagorno-Karabakh in January-August
of this year. The majority were from the USA, Russia,
France, Canada, Iran and Germany. Among the tourists
were visitors from Malta, Taiwan, Venezuela and other
countries.
Yuri Zakarian, head of the consular service of
Nagorno-Karabakh foreign ministry, said to Armenpress
that part of foreigners visiting Nagorno-Karabakh are
representatives of international organizations,
businessmen and benefactors. The bulk of those who
come to see its sightseeing are ethnic Armenians.
In 2006 over 5,000 foreigners from 60 countries
visited Nagorno-Karabakh. In 2005 the figure was 4,000
and 2,400 in 2004.
