ARMENPRESS
Sept 27 2007

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS: On September 29-30 Armenia will
join other European nations to mark European Heritage Days.

Deputy culture minister Gagik Gurjian told a news conference today
that cultural sites across the country run by nature protection and
culture ministries will open for free for all visitors.

He said the European Heritage Days were officially launched September
21 in Belgrade, Serbia. In Armenia the event will be started by a
ceremony at the National Architecture Institute.

European Heritage Days were started by the Council of Europe in 1991,
and Armenia has participated since 1999. Last year 20 million people
visited 30,000 monuments across Europe for the initiative.
