A delegation spearheaded by Davit Harutunyan, chairman of state and
legal affairs interim committee at the National Assembly, has headed
for Strasbourg to participate in the fall session of Parliamentary
Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) which started on October 1 and
will continue until October 5. "Our Armenian delegation will present
several questions that are earlier discussed at the committees,"
Hermine Naghdalyan, deputy of parliament and member of the Armenian
delegation at PACE, told Panorama.am.
Naghdalyan could not go to Strasbourg due to health problems.
In her words, the delegation will touch upon issues on refugees that
have been risen by the Azerbaijani delegation. Naghdalyan said the
Armenian delegation will deliver no speeches on Nagorno Karabakh or
Armenia. "Meantime, our Azerbaijani colleagues are trying to raise the
issue of Nagorno Karabakh or refugees to the point or pointlessly. They
have just made the chairmen tired," the deputy mentioned.
Ms. Naghdalyan mentioned that Turkish President Abdullah Gul has
received an invitation to participate in the session this time. Giul
will deliver one-hour long speech and the session participants will
have a chance to address questions to him.
