Today residents of North and Main avenues, Dalma gardens and Byuzand
Street handed an open letter to RA President Robert Kocharian and
British Embassy.
They wonder why the president should support Prime Minister Serge
Sargsyan at the upcoming elections if the latter doesn’t keep his
promises.
To remind, Serge Sargsyan had promised to host the residents after
the parliamentary elections to find a solution to their matter. Five
months have passed since then but nothing has changed.
"Obviously, the prime minister is a liar. He is either incapable of
keeping his promises or the Municipality doesn’t carry out the prime
minister’s instructions," said Sedrak Baghdasaryan, the Chairman of
the "Victims of State Needs" NGO.
The presentees are unable to privatize their homes though they have
lived there for ages.
"We have already tasted the fruits of life. We are concerned over
our children’s future. Why should they be thrown outdoors?" said
Svetlana Charikyan.
The demonstrators were received by the representatives of the
Municipality at the president’s residence.
