MINISTER OSKANIAN’S MEETINGS IN NEW YORK AND BOSTON

October 4 in New York RA Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian delivered a
speech at the sitting of the UN General Assembly High Level Dialogue
on Interreligious & Intercultural Understanding & Cooperation for
Peace. The session sponsored by Philippines and Pakistan was dedicated
to the necessity of fostering interreligious and intercultural dialogue
for reinforcement of peace.

The same day Minister Oskanian met with the OSCE Minsk Group
Co-Chairs. During the meeting reference was made to the issues
of negotiation process on the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh
conflict, on which there is no consensus. Questions connected with
the Co-Chairs’ visit to the region were also discussed.

October 4 Minister Oskanian met with US Under-Secretary of State
Nicolas Burns. Issues of the broad bilateral agenda, the Karabakh
peace process, and Armenian-Turkish relations were discussed.

October 5 Minister Oskanian left for Boston, where he made a speech
at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts University.

There a Dean’s Medal was conferred on Vartan Oskanian.
