TURKISH PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION TO ARRIVE IN WASHINGTON FOR ARMENIAN RESOLUTION

WASHINGTON D.C. – A Turkish parliamentary delegation, comprised of
Deputy Chairman of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party and
Istanbul MP Egemen Bagis, Republican People`s Party (CHP) MP Sukru
Elekdag and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) MP Gunduz Aktan, will
arrive in Washington to inform American authorities on Turkey`s views
on a draft Armenian resolution in the U.S. Congress, it was reported.
According to the press office of the Turkish Embassy in Washington,
the Turkish delegation will meet officials at the White House,
U.S. Congress, U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Defense
between October 8th and 11th. The Turkish delegation will also hold
talks at a U.S. think tank organization.
The U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Relations Committee will
vote on an Armenian resolution on Wednesday, October 10th. The Bush
administration opposes the adoption of such a resolution.
