SOCIAL HEALTH CENTER TO BE OPENED ON OCTOBER 12 IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 10, NOYAN TAPAN. A four-storeyed building has been
built in Yerevan’s Kanaker-Zeytun community on the initiative of the
Mission Armenia NGO. A Social Health Center will function in that
building, the opening of which will take place on October 12.
As Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed by the organization’s
Public Relations Department, the Center is intended for 34 lone old
people and 2 socially insecure families. It is envisaged that the
families living in the center, which should have children without
fail, should help old people in solution of some everyday problems,
making purchases, calling a doctor when necessary, and other things.
A charity canteen, a first-aid post, a social room, a laundry,
a hairdressing saloon, a bath-house, a dentist’s room, a cafe, an
entertainment room, a computer room, and a gymnasium will function
on the building’s first two floors.
It should be mentioned that the program has been implemented with
the financing of the Agency for Development and Cooperation under the
Swiss government, Embassy of Germany in Armenia, Armenian Office of
UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and Norwegian Council for Refugees.
