Michael Harutyunyan received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense

October 11 RA Defense Minister Michael Harutyunyan received the US
Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Debra Cagan, who is paying a
two-day visit to Armenia. The meeting was attended by US Charge
d’Affaires a.i. Rudolf Perina.

The parties turned to the developments of the current stage of
bilateral Armenian-American military relations, the defense reforms
in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, and US assistance
programs to RA Armed Forces.

On behalf of the US Government and people Debra Cagan expressed deep
gratitude to RA Government and the Ministry of Defense for the
contribution to the peacekeeping mission in Iraq. The representative
of the US Department of Defense personally met with Armenian
peacekeepers in Iraq and considers that they are courageous and brave
soldiers.
