PROGRAMS FOR CREATING STATE INSTITUTION ON DIASPORA ISSUES AND ALL ARMENIAN BANK

On October 16, Armenian Prime Minister Serge Sargsian received
a delegation led by the President of All Armenian Congress and
Russia’s Armenians Union Ara Abrahamian, informed RA Government press
office. Prime Minister Serge Sargsian mentioned that Armenia always
follows with interest the activities of AAC and RAU.
According to him, motherland and Diaspora’s programs to have a
strong state and strong Diaspora are consonant with each other,
and the cooperation is efficient on the way of achieving that goal.
Attaching importance to the development of Armenia-Diaspora relations
the leader of the Armenian Government at the same time underlined
that the capacity of Diaspora is not used properly. The Prime Minister
attached importance to stirring up the participation and initiatives of
the state in the programs in the sphere of preservation of the nation.
He also informed about the plans for creating State Institution on
Diaspora Issues and All Armenian Bank.
Ara Abrahamian thanked the Prime Minister and spoke about the ways
of using the capacity of Diaspora more efficiently.
Introducing the carried out programs of AAC and RAU in Armenia and
Nagorno Karabakh in the spheres of agriculture, house construction,
health care, education, science, culture, the President of AAC and
RAU underlined, "It’s time to act". In that context he spoke about
some future programs, also about the initiative in holding a big
economical conference. He proposed to create a working group in
cooperation with the Government for the purpose of discussions of
various programs and realization of practical works.
During the meeting the leaders of Diaspora communities expressed their
assistance to the strengthening of Motherland-Diaspora relations and
submitted their proposals on different issues of that cooperation.
Vice-president of Georgia’s Armenians Union, member of the General
Council of AAC Van Bayburdian thanked the Prime Minister and the
Government of Armenia for the assistance for Javakhk, mainly, its
cultural and educational centers.
One of the leaders of Ramkavar Party and Tekeyan Union, member of the
General Council of AAC Ervand Azatian welcomed the idea of creating
a State Institution on Diaspora Issues. He mentioned that it would
contribute to the strengthening of relations between the communities
of Diaspora and motherland and also systematization of the activities
of communities for the benefit of achievement of national purposes.
At the end of the meeting Prime Minister Serge Sargsian wished all
the Armenian organizations of Diaspora good luck with their activities.
