FIRST INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL TO BE HELD BETWEEN OCTOBER 19 TO
NOVEMBER 4 IN YEREVAN
YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, NOYAN TAPAN. The First International Music
Festival will be held between October 19 to November 4 in Yerevan on
the initiative of the RA Ministry of Culture and the State Armenian
Philharmonic Orchestra. Both Armenian musicians and world-famous
musicians of various nations, including German violinist Julia Fischer
announced the first musician in 2007, English pianist Ashley Voss,
French pianist Philippe Cassard, will perform at Aram Khachatrian
concert hall and Komitas Chamber Music House within the framework of
the festival.
Symphonic, chamber, and ensemble music will be performed during the
concerts. Besides, world-famous musicians will hold master-classes at
Aram Khachatrian House-Museum. As Edvard Topchian, the Art Director and
conductor of the State Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, said, only
high-class music will be presented to lovers of classical music within
the framework of the festival.
E. Topchian also said that the Philharmonic Orchestra has received a
proposal to perform on tours in Japan in 2008 summer. The concerts in
various Japanese cities will last 75 days. Verdi’s Aida will be
presented 50 times in this period. However, it is not known yet what
choir will leave for the tours with the orchestra.
