IRAN-ARMENIA TALKS BEGIN IN YEREVAN

Iranian President Ahmadinejad and his Armenian couonterpart Koucharian
meet Armenia’s President Robert Koucharian has officially welcomed
his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the Presidential Palace.

During the ceremony the national anthems of both countries were played,
the two presidents reviewed a guard of honor and the officials of
both sides were introduced to each other.

President Ahmadinejad and his Armenian counterpart have already
started their private talks.

The official negotiations between the high-ranking Iranian and Armenian
delegations are due to start after the presidential meeting.

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Caretaker Oil Minister
Gholam-Hossein Nozari, Head of Iran-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship
Group Ahmad Nateq Nouri accompany the president.

During his two-day visit, Ahmadinejad is to deliver speeches at
Armenia’s national parliament and Yerevan University, where an honorary
doctorate degree is to be granted to him.
