/PanARMENIAN.Net/ No charges are expected in the Armenian-Turkish
relations in the near future, Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian
told a news conference in Yerevan.

"I met with new Turkish FM Ali Babacan in New York.

Each of us confirmed position of our states. We will continue meetings
at the level of Deputies to Foreign Ministers. However, I do not think
there will be any progress. For instance, Deputy Foreign Minister Arman
Kirakossian is currently in Istanbul participating in BSEC session,"
Mr Oskanian said.

Armenia and Turkey do not have diplomatic relations.

In 1993 Turkey closed the border with Armenia to support Azerbaijan
in Karabakh issue. Armenia is ready to establish relations with
Ankara without preconditions, however the latter urges Yerevan
to stop pressing for Armenian Genocide recognition and supporting
Nagorno Karabakh

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
