Armen Martirosyan, member of the Heritage faction, stated during the
parliamentary briefings on October 26 there is no certainty over
what decision regarding the presidential election the political
party and Raffi Hovannisian will make, because it is also his
personal decision. Armen Martirosyan says, however, the meetings
with the regional organizations of the party show the ranks want
Raffi Hovannisian to run in the presidential election. The member of
the party also said the nomination is not an end in itself because in
Armenia it is important to reach a change of the situation, democratic
reforms and freedoms. "And if our nomination will be helpful to these
objectives, we will take that step," Armen Martirosyan says.
