ALEKSANDER ISKANDARIAN: THERE ARE NO PRECONDITIONS FOR A COLORED
REVOLUTION IN ARMENIA
There are no preconditions for a colored revolution in Armenia, in
spite of the activization of Levon Ter-Petrosian, according to
Aleksander Iskandarian, who was the guest of Urbat club on October 25.
"I don’t think that a colored revolution is a phenomenon organized
outside of the country. It’s soon to speak of a colored revolution in
Armenia. It’s a technology that lets people come from the street to
power after the elections. Anyway, I don’t connect it with foreign
activity. I think that the intentions that the first president of
Armenia has are not dictated by Washington or Brussels. It is a result
of political developments inner Armenia and his studies of the
situation. In this case I continue to think like before; if similar
changes happen, they need a basis inner the country", mentioned
Aleksander Iskandarian. He also clarified that he doesn’t exclude
foreign influences as well. "It’s not like Washington pushes the
button and here Levon Ter-Petrosian becomes active. There is no doubt
that every political figure before the political fight counts all the
circumstances. Ter-Petrosian is an experienced political figure, and
of course the foreign factor is also counted, I think that he has
counted also the inner factor.
Aleksander Iskandarian assured that if the first president announced
his candidacy in the presidential elections (the possibility of it is
big according to Aleksander Iskandarian), in that case Levon
Ter-Petrosian would regard his chances as big.
