FIVE ARMENIAN BOXERS PASS TO 1/8 FINAL OF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

CHICAGO, OCTOBER 29, NOYAN TAPAN. The World Boxing Rating Championship
is continuing in Chicago. Hovhannes Danielian (48kg), Hrachya Javakhian
(60kg), and Tsolak Ananikian (81kg) from the Armenian representative
team competed on October 28. The three of them gained a victory
and passed to the 1/8 final. Azat Hovhannisian (54kg) and Edward
Hambardzumian (64kg) will also compete in that stage. If they are
able to gain victories in the 1/8 final as well, they will be awarded
passes.
Derenik Gijlarian (51kg), Vachagan Avagian (54kg) and Andranik Hakobian
(75kg) were defeated and did not qualify.
October 29 is declared to be a day off in the championship.
