OSKANYAN IS IN HUNGARY

The RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanyan is in Hungary
with an official visit upon the invitation of the Minister of Foreign
Affairs of Hungary Kinga Goncz.
The first meeting of the Minister was with the Minister of Foreign
Affairs. Welcoming the Vardan Oskanyan, Mrs Goncz pointed out the
historical relations of the two nations, cultural cooperation and
current friendly relations.
Minister Vardan Oskanyan also underlined the cordial relations of the
two nations, the favorable conditions that the Hungarian authorities
have established for the preservation and development of the Armenian
community in Hungary. The Minister talked about the willingness of
Armenia to collaborate with Hungary in various fields.
The parties reflected on the bilateral relations and the current phase
of cooperation. They underlined the opportunities of collaboration with
Hungry within the frameworks of Armenia-EU Actions Plan. Mentioning
that the interest of the EU toward Southern Caucasus countries has
aroused lately, Mrs Goncz pointed out that the official Budapest
encouraged EU efforts aimed at activating the East.
The ministers talked about economic collaboration, exchanged ideas
on international problems, regional developments and relations with
neighboring countries.
Oskanyan is to make a speech at CEU and to meet the members of
Hungarian-Armenian national self-determination department.
On 31 October Oskanyan will visit Hungarian Parliament, where he will
meet the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign
Relations Zort Nemet.
